Although bacteria are naturally present everywhere, some bacteria are harmful to humans and have the potential to cause sickness, disease, and even death. Water after a sewage release may have been wiped away, but dangerous bacteria such as Fecal Coliform and E. Coli could remain, potentially causing harm to the occupants.
Bacteria contamination may not be detected through smell, sight or taste and can spread quickly. During a Bacteria Assessment, PCM will take surface samples from affected areas which are analyzed for contamination such as Fecal Coliform and E. Coli at an American Industrial Hygiene Association accredited laboratory. If a sample analysis identifies bacterial contamination, a remediation report from PCM will detail how to safely remove the contamination.
Once the contract has completed their bacterial clean up, a Post Bacterial Clearance test is conducted to make sure the clean up is successful in eradicating all bacteria.
